About Diana

Everything starts in the garden. I began

flower gardening in the late 80s, with cleomes as my first flower. What started simply is now a lush perennial garden that surrounds my house.

In 2005, a fellow gardener invited me over to make pressed flower cards. She has always enjoyed sharing her knowledge and love of  flowers.  My friend is now 89 years old, still gardening, and continues to guide me toward the flowers that hold the best color and shape when pressed. In addition to pressing my own flowers,  I also have an open invitation to look through her collection of pressed flowers and to take those that capture my imagination.

Each pressed flower design is used to create a limited number of prints which captures the vibrancy of the colors before they fade.  The prints have a 3D quality which can be surprising.  I incorporate colored paper and patterned wallpapers as borders and backgrounds, and on the back of each card I list some of the flowers I use.  Each card includes an envelope and is enclosed in a plastic sleeve.

I have been selling my cards and other works of art ( framed art, bookmarks, and place mats ) locally, and I am excited to make my designs available to a larger audience.
